In Pygmalion, dramatic irony occurs during the ambassador's ball. When Nepommuck announces that Eliza is a fraud, he claims that because her accent is so perfect, she must be a royal Hungarian who has learned an English dialect. However, we the audience know that she is actually a flower girl from the slums of London. |
